Chris and Karen Helgeson, of Federal Way, Washington, and two friends, Roger and Valerie Stockwell, of Blain, Washington, died in the crash of Chris and Karen's airplane, in Lake Isabel, about three miles east of Gold Bar, Washington, on Sunday, April 4th, 1993. When found, on April 10th, the amphibious craft was upside down in 40 feet of water, about 50 feet from shore. Chris was 40 years old. Karen was 38 years old. They have two sons, Alexander, 14 years old; and Scott, 12 years old. Chris and Karen were buried at Washington Memorial Cemetery, Seattle, Washington, on April 17, 1993. They are survived by their two sons, Alexander (age 14) and Scott (age 12). They were buried April 17th, 1993 at Washington Memorial Cemetery. Services at the Des Moines United Methodist Church.
