Notes:

The following has been taken from the back of the church "bulletin" that celebrated Mel's funeral: Born January 24, 1905 in Fairhaven Minnesota, Mel was the youngest of 14 children. In 1929 he married Lois Frances Hunt and they had 3 daughters. Mel worked in sales until he was 89. In his spare time he was an inventor and enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing, car playing, bowling, and was a deacon in the church.

Mel was preceded in death by his daughter Judith Gardiner in 1979 and his wife of 54 years, Lois, in 1984. He is survived by his daughters Sharon and son-in-law Mel Suhr of Mukilteo, and Carolyn Helgeson of Bellevue, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mel's positive attitude and active participation in life influenced all who knew him. He will be remembered for is loving nature.

Mel died March 2, 1996, in Burien, Washington.
