Paul put almost all of the geneological information into the LDS software. The following paragraphs were written by Paul before his death.
The data for this program file is being entered by me, Paul Lort Helgeson. I am single, with no children.
I was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Greece, flying thru-out Turkey, the middle-east, North Africa and Europe during the years 1953 thru 1956.

I graduated from the University of Washington in 1959, majoring in Business Administration. I worked for Central Trailer Exchange from 1957 thru March 1978. I traveled thru Europe from April to October 1978, with my friend, Jim Kirkendall. I went to work for Sea-Tac Home Center, Inc. (a mobilehome dealer) in Feb. 1979 as a bookkeeper, Insurance agent, office manager and personal secretary to the President of the corporation. I am still working there.
I have raised Champion AKC Doberman Pinscher show dogs, since 1966. Jim Kirkendall has been my partner in the show dogs, my room-mate and companion, since 1973. Baptised at the Renville Methodist Church, Renville, Minnesota, by Bishop J. Ralph McGee, a Bishop of the Methodist Church, on May 3rd, 1933.

Paul was a lover of good food and this was probably his undoing. At one time he weighed almost 350 pounds. See the picture above of the four brothers - Paul is on the far right. This picture was taken after he had reduced his weight to 215 pounds. However, the damage had been done and he died of a massive heart attack on October 2, 1993, one day before he would have turned 61 years of age and on my 70th birthday.
Paul was generous in life. He, along with his second-cousin Glenna Lou Hutchinson Grandia on the Lewis side of the family and first-cousin Verda Helgeson Thometz on the Helgeson side, literally spent months working on the geneology of the Lewis and Helgson families. Paul put the data that Glenna and Verda generated into the LDS software program and tried to maintain the record-keeping at family reunions and personal communications with relatives.
