HELGESON-BERG FAMILY The Berg Farm, Gol, Hallingdal, Norway
In 1972, Lewis and Margaret Hatfield made the trip to Gol,
Hallingdal, Norway, seeking out the homeplace of our Helgeson-Berg
ancestors. Lewis is the son of Amanda Berg and Jesse Hatfield. He
retired from Teaching after 30 years and his wife retired from
nursing. They have five children and live in the state of Washington. Here are
some photos he sent me from their trip:

Our cradle place you can see all the existing buildings except the barn. At the left is Barbo's
house built about about 1902 and the stav barn on the right built in 1800.

The two ladies are sisters, Barbo, wife of a Berg, on the right, holds the key to her house.
Her sister in the green apron holds the barn keys. Sister's name is Barbo Stengrimsdatter,
same as Helge Aslagson's wife.
